Balance bikes are generally very safe to use. Depending on the child's experience, they are excellent to drive ride and decent speeds can be achieved without becoming unsafe. Still, it is always a good idea to keep an eye on your child, because if their steering motor skills are not great yet, your child might just ride into something. This will get better and better with practice.
The BERG Biky balance bike offers extra safety in several areas. This is partly due to the steering limitation, which can be set according to the child's experience. The more experienced the child, the further he/she can steer. The material the balance bike is made of is also important. Initially, children often still intuitively brake with their feet, which is fine at lower speeds. For extra safety, models are also available with a handbrake, so that even at higher speeds the balance bike comes to a quick stop. Furthermore, the BERG Biky's soft-grip handles, height-adjustable leather saddle and integrated footrests are all components that further enhance safety. Finally, there is also the option to add a safety flag and helmet to your Biky. A helmet may be desirable if your child is already reaching high speeds on the balance bike. This ensures optimum safety while playing.
