Frame pedal-gokarts
The large BERG Go-karts (5+/6+), are available with four different frames. You can choose for a standard system, a frame with three gears, an extra long frame or an electrically assisted frame.
.
XL Frame BFR
All large BERG Go-karts have a BFR system: Brake, Freewheel and Reverse. By using the pedals, the BFR system allows you to brake and then immediately reverse after standstill. In addition, the freewheel ensures that the pedals remain stationary while the wheels are turning. This combination of techniques ensures safety at all times when driving on your go-kart.
.
XL Frame BFR-3
In addition to the BFR system, BERG also offers a frame with a BFR-3 system. The abbreviation for BFR is still the same, but now with a nice addition: three gears! Three gears on your go-kart ensure optimal comfort and that you arrive at your destination even faster.
.
XXL Frame BFR
The BERG XXL frame is ideal for people taller than average height. The XXL Frame BFR has the standard BFR system, but with a reinforced and extended frame. The main difference is that the XXL Frame has two extra positions at the back of the frame, so there are eight different positions instead of six. This ensures that taller people can sit better and more comfortably in the go-kart.
.
XXL Frame E-BFR
The E-BFR Frame is a frame for children age 6 and up. The E-BFR frame is electrically assisted: the harder you pedal, the more assistance you will get from the motor. The extra large frame and the two extra seat positions make the go-kart suitable for both children and adults.
Characteristics of the E-BFR Frame:
- • Includes display with speedometer, distance meter, and battery capacity
- • With 24V/240Wh removable battery
- • 250W middle motor with torque sensor
- • Provides at least 6-8 hours driving pleasure (under ideal circumstances)
- • Includes battery charger
- • An XXL Frame with two extra seat positions
.
XXL Frame E-BFR-3
The E-BFR-3 frame offers the same pedal support as the E-BFR, but this frame is equipped with 3 gears to make it even easier to get going.
With the E-BFR-3 gearing, your start is even faster and climbing hills is easier. You are helped to ride off faster not only by changing gears, but also by the E-Motor. The same goes for the E-BFR as for the E-BFR-3: the harder you pedal, the more support the de E-Motor gives. The E-Skelter has a 250W E-Motor that provides pedal support. There are 4 levels of support: ECO, TOUR, SPORT and TURBO.

Frequently asked questions
What does BFR mean?
BFR stands for: Break, Freewheel and Reverse. The BFR system allows you to brake using the pedals, but also reverse immediately after coming to a standstill. In addition, the freewheel ensures that the pedals remain stationary while the wheels are turning.
What does BFR-3 mean?
BFR-3 stands for: Break, Freewheel and Reverse + three gears. This system is identical to the BFR system, but with three gears. This makes it easier to accelerate, to ride up a hill and go very fast when you have the wind behind you!
Is it possible to mount gears on a BERG Go-kart?
Unfortunately it is not possible to add gears to a go-kart after it has been purchased. The frame of a go-kart with gears is specially made to include gears and therefore it is not possible to mount gears on another frame.
